ROSC Iúil/Lúnasa 1973

Special Trilingual Edition

Eagarthóir: Pól Ó Duibhir

A special edition of ROSC was produced for the 1973 Eisteddfod. The back page contained a series of items, in standard newspaper columnar format, all of which related to Welsh matters and alternated in Irish, English and Welsh. It was sold at the Oireachtas stand on the Eisteddfod field and the back page was presented as the front page in the display, in the fashion of much modern bilingual literature.

Items covered included: an appreciation of Sir David Hughes Parry, who was President of the Eisteddfod Court and had chaired the Committee on the Status of the Welsh Language; ongoing controversy on the "Welsh Rule"; royal patronage of the festival; and Irish representation on the Eisteddfod stage.
