Former Cenacle Convent

formercenacleconvent.jpg

This is the entrance to what used to be the Convent of Our Lady of the Cenacle. The order's origins are french but the Reverened Mother was American (USA) and she had all the local professionals eating out of her hand. Nuns are unparallelled in their ability to get people to work for them for free, but she was something else. In my day the order still had the hierarchical distinction between Mothers and Sisters, in common with most orders. The nuns have now gone, the house has returned to its original name, Kilmarnock, and it now hosts an English language school.
