Entries making an outstanding contribution to the conservation and enhancement of heritage which were recognised and particularly appreciated by the Juries but not included in the final selection to receive an Award are awarded a Special Mention by the Jury.
In Category 1 (Conservation) in 2014 there were 97 entries, 15 awards and 7 Special Mentions. So the Martello Tower project was in the top quarter of entries in the category.
