Other Peoples

Galway is not immune from the foreign influences affecting the Celtic Tiger, but it had its own foreign influences from way back. There are many Spanish genes in the pool to the extent that this is noticeable in the people. A few more recent arrivals are shown below.

Fred set up here in 1940. I wonder was he a refugee. In any event he has now been here so long I'm sure he counts as a native Galwegian.



Post Soviet influence is also to be seen.



The Bierhaus, established in 2005, formerly Cobblers, looks pretty on the outside but has got very mixed reviews from customers.
