Fris the Caricaturist

This is Fris, real name Francis Kerjean, the caricaturist who did the caricature of me in the Place du Tertre in Paris in 1988. He was in Montmartre from 1984 to 1995 and went on to do both caricatures and cartoon strips for various French newspapers: L'Évenement du jeudi (1996 & 1997) and Libération (1999).

He was influenced from a tender age by the Franco-Belgian comic strip greats: particularly Hergé (Tintin), Uderzo (Astérix), Alexis, and Morris, the creator of Lucky Luke, whom he features in his publicity to illustrate his speed at doing caricatures on the spot.

He created the concept of the "cartoon show", an exclusive event where guests are sketched in close up in 50 seconds.

He has worked for a long time for Disneyland Paris, enlivening the hotels, the park itself and the professional seminars. He is currently working with the Accor group and works the Business Pullman and Novotel hotels.

His original website is currently out of commission as it has been taken hostage by his former webmaster. He is now operating out of this site which he tells me works better and is better illustrated.

This is the full cartoon he did of me. Note the Sinclair computer (more like a Minitel than a Spectrum) and his signature followed by "Montmartre 88"

You can see some of his current work here.
