This is the lane at the back of the Daleview cottages. When we arrived in Ballybrack in 1954 there was a major local authority issue with the toilets in these cottages. They were outdoor toilets, down the back of the gardens and were not connected to the local sewerage system so the "honey cart" came regularly to empty them. Properly connected indoor toilets were eventually provided following many local campaigns at times of national and local elections.
