This was the original Daleview with its 20 or so tiny cottages in many of which large families were raised. The name "Daleview" was once appropriate but the vale has now been filled by a combination of housing and the Loughlinstown (Cherrywood) Business Park. Daleview was known locally as the Kop after the battle of Spion Kop (1900) during the Boer War. I don't know what the connection is.
