There wasn't really very much to learn from this marriage cert as these were my own parents and I knew most of it already. This is a church marriage cert which is less informative than the official one:

• Dad gives 2 Harbour Road, Howth, as his address. This is the Gem shop which he and my mother managed from 1942 to 1949.
• Mam married out of Orwell Gardens where she lived with her mother. She had earlier been in digs with the O'Driscoll's in San Remo on Church Road, Sutton, Co. Dublin.
• Witnesses were:
  • Jimmy Dwyer, Dad's youngest brother and a member of the 1932 Mayo Senior Team (GAA). Unfortunately they didn't win the All Ireland till 1936 on which team he was a sub.
  • Mai Medlar, Mam's cousin. Mai was not only a cousin but a good friend.
• They were married in Terenure, which is the Parish church for Orwell Gardens.
