Steamy Atmosphere
Bray Railway Station - 6/1/2009
This sign seems to be invoking the Atmospheric Railway, which extended the existing Dublin - Kingstown (Dn Laoghaire) line as far as Dalkey in 1843. The line was subsequently extended to Bray in 1854, when the atmospheric section between Kingstown and Dalkey was replaced with conventional steam locomotion. If you're going to do history, do it right. The insensitivity of representing the Atmospheric Railway with the steam locomotive which replaced it is beyond belief.
