O'Leary's Pub ![]() Established by Ma O'Leary in 1995, the pub is now run by her son Adrian Cuddy. It has a good atmosphere, with an established local clientle. ![]() My main contact with the pub was for two World Cup matches. The first was when Germany sent England (including a ridiculously waistcoated Beckam) home to the motherland. Adrian's sympathies were no secret. ![]() About three quarters of the customers were rooting for Germany, with a minority of Dutch, who could not bring themselves to support their old foes, rooting for England. ![]() Always sensitive to his customers, Adrian had a change of Jersey for the Netherlands vs. Slovakia match. Mind you, it was clear that this was also where his real sympathies lay. ![]() This match played to an extatic audience. ![]() But, no matter where you go, you will always find the one insensitive idiot who blocks everyone else's view as he struts his support in the middle of the aisle. |
